The visit of Enrique Fernández García served to convey an implicit idea throughout his lecture: "No one is a prophet in their own land." This saying applies to the case of this eminent public figure from Sucre, former rector of the university, whose ideas are more appreciated abroad than in his own homeland.
Enrique Fernández came from Santa Cruz to pay tribute and to make us aware of the magnitude of the paradigms he defends in his work: the influence of the "telluric" on Bolivian thought, the myths that emerged from the colonial mining emporium of Potosí, and their extension into popular culture.
